[.....
Yeah, that's about the level of seriousness he'd expected, and he sighs heavily, holding the posture for a couple of seconds to indulge her before dropping his arms back to his sides.]
Can I un-hug at least one of them? Not sure they all deserve it.

[There's a long pause as he mulls it over, and then at last he sighs, shoulders slumping, finally releasing the tight grip of control over his expression to show: uncomfortable resignation.
He gets it. He doesn't like it, but he gets it. And while he might have been angrier before, getting the chance to intervene on Prompto's self-erasure was worth the trouble.]
Just... next time, give me a heads up? Getting blindsided by that guy is one thing, but finding out you were involved... not great.

I don't know yet. He heard me out, at least, which is more than anyone ever gets from a Nif. Maybe it'll help.
[He shrugs, glancing away.]
But he thinks the world revolves around his country, like they always do. Save Niflheim, it'll save the world! Right- save it so they can roll in and take what they want all over again, if that's what the emperor decides.

[Noctis's expression immediately goes dark.]
Of course he'd consider that.
[What the hell is wrong with Niflheim, seriously.]
They've been experimenting with daemons and the Starscourge since I was a kid, if not much longer. We didn't know it then, but it was confirmed later when they dropped one on us to try and take us out. I'm not sure if they're just using them or making them somehow- either option's bad. You can't tame or control daemons. I doubt it'd work on the monsters here too.
[The whole situation's just... wrong. And messy on multiple levels. That's not even getting into the kind of monstrous tech that exists in Solheim's ruins; if Niflheim got their hands on the really complicated stuff there, how much worse could it get?]
