[ She turns her head from the skyline of the city to look at him, her thumb brushing over the side of his hand in a way she means to be both tender and to get his attention. When she does, she keeps her gaze locked with his, affirming this: ]

I'm on your side. [ Always. Of course she wants him to live. His fate and the events of his world have always been more complicated than that, however, and she knows the position he's in is difficult. It gives him very little room to hope. Does she encourage that hope regardless if it will prove to be false, or does she help him with finding contentedness, value, and meaning in the time he has left? The end of his life doesn't invalidate his life lived.

She had been leaning towards the latter, for that's how she copes with her own circumstances; however, since she's grown to love him more and more, the foundation of her wanting to help only that in him has since shaken. ]
