[He's not so sure he's keen on the idea of picking a fight out in the wild when he's still struggling to do something as simple as take his sword out, but... he is still curious about the wall. Ugh, he's going to make some more stupid decisions, isn't he.]
Can't carry food in it. Or I can, but I'm not supposed to. Doesn't always come back out right.
[The armory doesn't come with food expiration date labels... who knows if it's still edible.]
It was... a group decision. [By basically everyone in charge of taking care of him, after The Incident.] Maybe when I can control it better, I'll do what I want with it.
[ She nods at that, continuing to walk. Maybe he does need more time to harness the power of the Armiger. Maybe there is a way to preserve food in it without it perishing, if he can control it bettter.
[ Oh yes, she knows, she's just full of wonderful ideas. ]
Heh. [ She snaps her fingers as if she's just come up with another idea. Goodness, she's full of them today! Must be something in the air. ] There's probably a mini-fridge somewhere, and they've got those replicators to stock up with food.
[ Aaaand time skip to acquiring a mini fridge, plus going to some house to access its replicator.
....Amazing how they have the dora for a mini fridge despite having just arrived. ]
Okay. Chips. Fries. Burgers. Cupcakes. Cookies...
[ Clearly, the best diet ever to take on a trip. ]
I think that’s enough food.
[ Mythra places the replicator back onto the wall, and then places a hand upon her hip. She nods towards the mini-fridge, stepping back to let him do whatever it is to put it in the Armiger. ] All yours.
[She may not have made the best first impression, but this is definitely endearing her to him in the aftermath. Some of the food looks a bit... unorthodox, colour-wise, but it smells tasty enough. He crouches down next to the fridge, eyeing it dubiously, then sets his hand down on the top of it.]
Okay, uh... this should be doable. I've stored greatswords bigger than this.
[Those admittedly took some effort as well, but it's always been easy to send items into the Armiger than it is to take it out again, so give him a few seconds to focus on it, infuse his magic into it, and...
...ah, there it goes, shattering into a collection of drifting crystals for a second or two before fading from sight entirely.]
I... guess the answer is yes? [You can in fact store a fridge in the Armiger.]
[ She waves a hand at one of the crystalline lights before it blinks out of existence. She finds that power far more interesting than spontaneously-appearing-food. ] Alright, off we go.
[ She turns on her heels, waving at him to follow. Time to head to the barrier, and totally not get into trouble. ] I dunno how big this city is, [ (Maybe she should have paid more attention during the tour.) ] but maybe we can make it back before nightfall.
[He's so going to forget about this later. For the moment he's mostly just thrilled that it worked, and that he found a convenient workaround the rule of No Food in the Armiger. Thanks for that, Mythra.
Her words do make him pause mid-step, suddenly a little wary.]
...Do... you know if it's safe here at night? Just in case.
[This isn't Eos, but he'd be stupid not to think twice about being outside the city limits when darkness comes. What if daemons exist here too?]
No more or less than any other city...? [ She shrugs as they walk. ] The locals don’t seem hostile.
Ah. But tour guide mentioned that some fauna from outside the barrier might have been engulfed by the expansion of the barrier. If the population hasn’t been cleared out by now, we might spot a few. Dunno if they’re nocturnal, though.
[ Mythra would not guess a thing about why he asks. Daemons do not exist in her world.
However, she will tease: ] Why, you’re scared of the dark?
[Noctis makes a face at that, defensive and a little annoyed.]
I'm not scared. [He hesitates, and then adds reluctantly,] Just... never left the city before. Where I'm from it isn't safe after dark.
[Though there is some wildlife within the walls of Insomnia, the daemons can't get in. If this place works more or less the same way, it... should be okay. He kind of wishes Gladio were around, though. He's still lacking training in a lot of areas.]
[Correct on both counts, though he does look a little embarrassed for it.]
My dad's... really protective. [Overprotective it feels like sometimes, but considering the daemon attack and assassination attempts, it's a valid concern. Lucian royalty are a limited and valued commodity, and there's no nice way to describe it.]
[ Her gaze remains upon him for a second or two after he gives his answer, and then she takes a few steps forward, leading their way. ]
Lucky you, you've got someone who has experience with the great outdoors. [ Mythra turns partway to look back at him, tossing her hair over her shoulder. She smiles confidently. ] Even if we do get stuck out there at nightfall, you don't have to worry. Consider me an expert in camping.
You're in good hands.
[ Good hands, she says, when they both nearly fell out a tower just an hour ago... ]

Not supposed to? Who made that rule?
[ She sounds huffy, as if she's offended on his behalf. Here he has the awesome power of hammerspace, something she doesn't have, and yet...
Sure she can guess why perishable foods would be a bad idea, but not all foods go bad! ]

Or.
Maybe. ]
....What if.... [ A pause. ] Okay, hear me out:
What if you put a refrigerator in it?
no subject
A... a whole fridge!?
[That's so big! It's bigger than any of Gladio's swords or shields, and those are the biggest things he'd have to store in it, right?]
no subject
[ She tilts her head, looking at him. Of course, she doesn't know how limited he is with putting things into the Armiger, but... ]
You never tried it, huh.

[It's such a weird yet kind of logical idea.]
I don't know if it would fit... maybe a little one...?

What'daya say? Let's do it.
[ Who knows how long this trip could last. ]

Okay, fine. If we find a fridge, I'll try to put it in. But don't be mad if I can't get it back later!

“More than the usual?” she’s about to ask, but then stops herself. There’s no point of reference of what’s usual between different universes.
What he says about never having left the city is unusually, however.
Maybe he’s just a city boy. ]
Not a big explorer, huh?
