I'm offended. Aren't I your girlfriend too? You should know my favorite color by now.

[ He doesn't even know Pyra's favorite color... Not that Pyra knows his either. Which, she knows that neither do. Hence, the offense is completely in jest. ]

[He blinks, eyes wide for a moment before it clicks that she's teasing. So she likes that too, huh...]

[He lifts a hand to idly scratch at his cheek. He hadn't expected the same answer.]

It... used to be blue? Not totally sure anymore. Feels kinda cliche.

[The colour of his magic hasn't exactly brought him nothing but joy like it used to, so things are complicated.]

Okay- favourite dessert? I remember you like cake.

[He can't help it; he laughs, shaking his head. That, too, is a familiar sort of answer.]

A very long list... when I was a kid, that's what I said when someone asked me what kind of fish I like.

She makes a face. ]

Mm... But as a kid, did you even know what a monkfish was yet?

I don't even know what a monkfish is now.

[ Her smile is wry. ] When's your birthday again?

[And Pyra never gave a birthday for either of them. Do crystal-people not have one?]

So. Do you want to be scarred for life sooner or later?

[ What she's not telling him is: monkfish might look nasty, but apparently they're a delicacy, one that Pyra does know how to prepare and cook. ]

["Scarred for life"... and he's already seen some weird fish. How worried should he be?

He holds his hand out, though, gesturing with his palm up.]

[It's not a prolonged hold; he turns her hand over so it's her palm facing upwards, and with the other, he traces out in a reversed way that she can see: 8, 3, 0.]

But also: an offer to choose a birthday for her. She’s never given it much thought before, yet her gaze softens at the offer. ]
