Oh like coding them? Or how they behave? Or their physiology?
[ Technological computer stuff AND the biology shit. Boiiii she can tell you about both of these things. There are strange dragons in her world. There are artificial ones. There are even ones that are entire continents... ]
Ooh like a video game? I will gladly help you with this!
:)
[ Y'know, it's the least she can do for him, after their last conversation. Because she won't help him when it comes to defying fate, but putting it off by messing around in VR? Sure, no problem, have a another smiley face. ]
I'm pretty good with making AI and robots, so I'd love to help! ;)
[ Talking about... AI and robots... is borderline a dangerous subject to getting to know her more, which she doesn't wish for. But in this case--
It'll be safe, she tells herself. It's not as if she needs to explain how she knows, just that she does. ] :O I'm not completely familiar with their version of VR tech here, but I'm sure that between the two of us, we can recreate that video game you cherish. [ Again, the least she can do for him. ]
With robots too, if you want. :) Maybe even robot-dragons. Where do we go to start developing?
I wouldn't mind that. Do you have a place you'd like to meet? You can come on over, if you like.
[ A pause, and then she texts this a moment later: ]
Somnus isn't here.
[ She only writes this because...! She recalls he hadn't seemed to thrilled at seeing his ancestor that morning of the sunrise. Here, have another smiley: ]
:)

[There's a pause before he responds, though it might be impossible to tell whether it's because of what she says or because he's otherwise distracted. Regardless, it isn't very long, just a bit more than his previous replies. The perks of text: you have time to consider your words first, less awkwardly than in person.]
it'd be fine if he was
that works tho. i can bring lunch over, iggy made chicken parm last night and i got leftovers
"Iggy" is a very cute nickname for him!! I'll remember that.
See you soon.
[ And boy howdy is she happy to be able to see him again...! Is this going to be awkward, she hopes this isn't going to be awkward. He had left their previous conversation so... sad, before. But. She is determined to make this one better! She'll do what she can to make his dragon game a (virtual) reality, if it's the one thing she can do right by him!
She'll be right at the door for when he rings, allowing him in. Of note, there is actually nothing to note about the interior of the townhouse. It doesn't appear very well lived-in despite the weeks they've both spent there, and there are not so much as any hint of decorations or alterations to the furniture or its set-up. Nonetheless her welcome is warm and her eyes are bright. ] I'm glad you could make it. How have you been?
[ Blah blah small-talk as he gets settled in... She'll help hang up his jacket if need be. ]
[It might bring her some comfort to find no discomfort on his part; time and distance and the usual coping mechanisms (that is to say: shove it in the corner and think of other things) has helped him brush off the awkwardness and refocus. He's unbothered by her presence, offering up a smile no less awkward than it always is for him. The empty-looking house does make him pause and glance around as they get settled, his brow lifted.]
Oh man, you guys need some colour in here.
[And he does hang his jacket, if only to indicate that this could take some time if they really get into it.]
She doesn't seem bothered by the suggestion, however, as she leads him to the living room. Here, she has a tablet out opened to a drawing application. This will be useful in designing dragons. ]
I'll have to ask what he thinks, but.... why, do you think it's too bland?
Whatever, it's your house. Just seems kind of dreary for you, that's all.
[He scratches at his cheek, realizing a little too late that it's not the most courteous thing to say, nevermind as a houseguest, and lifts a bag as a peace offering. Inside is two containers with the promised lunch.]
I shouldn't judge. My place probably wouldn't look much better if Kaname hadn't decorated before I even got here.
[ Dreary. She will consider this and bring this up to Somnus later, although she herself has no particular attachment to decorations. But if it would make Noctis happy... ] I suppose... I can speak with Somnus about, ah, adding a little color. I think he favors blue.
[ Pyra sits down upon the couch, inviting him to do the same with a pat on the seat next to her. Cozy on up boi, this discussion will be pointless if they also don't give contact; because without giving that energy to the gods, this world will die, and a dead world means no more video games. ] A-anyway, we're here for dragons, correct? Let's get right to it.
[He follows her over, plopping down beside her, at first with a small space between and then, after a moment's pause, scoots himself over so their sides are pressed together. Almost like repeated contact has let him reach a certain comfort level with her! Who'd have thought.
He draws his tablet from the Armiger in a flash of blue light and taps at the screen a few times until he's able to show her a document with the large, bolded title across the top: King's Knight - Wrath of the Dark Dragon.
She won't see it all right away but it looks like there are... many pages.]
So- the idea is that every level you work your way through a dungeon, fighting monsters, the usual, and of course each level's gonna have a boss. Considering the name, most of the level bosses ought to be a dragon, or something similar, yeah? But I didn't just want to make a copy of the old game. [He scratches awkwardly at his hair.] I think more people might want to play if they could find something familiar.
[ Leaning into him, comfortable, she looks at the pages he brings up to show her... Then she looks at him as he begins to talk about it. He seems so excited. He’s smiling, at ease.
This is what she wishes to preserve. ] Such as incorporating beasts that honor other worlds? You’re very mindful...
[ Hm. ] Whatever design you take, let’s... [ A pause, a head tilt. Some Of her hair falls past her ears to her cheek. She lifts a hand to retuck the strands behind her ear. ] incorporate a mechanic of touch. Maybe only the most effective attacks or spells are possible when holding hands with another. Or, ah, those enemies can only be defeated by a finishing, ranged blow— [ Her hand swipes out, as if gesturing swinging a sword dramatically. Smiling and relaxing, she looks back at him. ] —but only when another’s hand is upon your shoulder.
[ It can be part of the... ethos of the game, that one is strongest when fighting alongside others, not alone. That nothing can be accomplished by oneself. ]
[Mindful? That's generous. He mostly just doesn't want to play an MMO by himself. Parties work best with four!]
Oh, yeah, that's actually a pretty good idea. There's a mechanic for combo moves, I'm used to doing that in real life anyway so I figured it'd transfer over... no reason why we couldn't come up with a few that'd trigger with different kinds of contact.
[He scoots down to the bottom of the document to start tapping in new notes.]
There's one Gladio and me do back home, where we hook arms and he swings me around and throws me. Something like that maybe...?
[ Sure Noctis is scrawny slender but THAT SOUNDS LIKE A PRETTY INTENSE MOVE. She’s picturing him being used by this Gladio guy as a sword that he throws to do a warp-strike of his own... ]
[ .....WELL... okay, she can see that, knowing that parents will playfully pick up their children and whatnot. But this still sounds. Dangerous.
She clears her throat. ]
I.... I suppose that works, mm. [ For the game. After a beat, she gently suggests: ] But let’s keep in mind of how accessible you wish this to be for others. Not everyone has the relationship you had with Gladio to trust them to throw them, er, straight into the maw of a dragon.
[ Let alone the strength. Then again, this is VR. She wonders if people will be able to create their own avatars and gain extra perks and different armor. But that’s for consideration further down the line. ]
Oh, sure- yeah, that's fine. I just figure we've got some options.
[He knows accessibility issues well enough, he can recognize the importance of it. (Thanks, shitty childhood.) So he's quick to nod, noting down more. Swing throw combo attack! But also: other combos. Yes. He likes it.]
Speaking of dragons though, you said there were robots?
